Brad is a Survey Crew Chief for TCE and is responsible for deed research, site reconnaissance and fieldwork related to boundary, ALTA and topographic surveys. Brad prepares existing conditions plans as well as boundary and subdivision plats. He conducts field stakeouts for everything from small private residential lots to large scale commercial projects. Brad is well versed in either boundary or construction surveying and enjoys the variety of work.
Brad resides in Milton, VT with his wife and dog. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting each fall in the hills and valleys of Vermont. Brad’s other hobbies include working on wood lots, camping and fishing.
Brad has 23 years of experience in the construction and surveying field and excels in understanding the complex issues involved and necessary tolerances which are often required for a successful project. Brad is the go-to person in the office for anchor bolt surveys assisting contractors and owners in ensuring proper placement during the construction process. Brad is also very efficient in the field and is able to cover a lot of ground in an accurate manor saving clients time and money.
For much of 2018 & 2019, Brad was the lead construction surveyor involved in building of the $16.5 million temporary drawbridge. There were many very precise measurements and CAD calculations needed to successfully build and verify the location of this structure. The permanent drawbridge bridge layout began in the fall of 2019.
Brad led the survey effort for this project, working at the site from planning through construction. He completed a boundary and topographic survey for this site in an expedited fashion to assist with a condensed schedule. He also conducted sight distance measurements which assisted with the shared access road design. Brad played a critical role during construction assisting the contractor in laying out the roads, culverts, clearing limits, house sites and septic systems. Brad also set pins for the new lot corners once the site work was complete.
Brad was the lead construction surveyor providing independent, second party quality assurance surveys. These surveys required a very low tolerance for error and were extremely time sensitive. Brad’s work on this project resulted in real-time construction adjustments when elevations were found out of tolerance.
