Habitat Restoration: Rare, Threatened, & Endangered Plant Survey (RTE Plant Survey)

Rare, Threatened, & Endangered Plant Survey (RTE Plant Survey)

TCE clients include numerous municipalities, private businesses, single family home owners, other architecture, engineering, and consulting firms, developers, and non-profit organizations.

Vermont is home to more than 600 plant species that are ranked as rare or uncommon and of these, 71 are state-listed as endangered and 93 are threatened.

Impacts to RTE species are regulated under Section 248, Act 250 and Vermont Endangered Species Law. TCE has qualified botanists on staff to conduct RTE plant surveys and shepherd clients through associated permitting to work in the vicinity of the plants.

Services we offer related to RTE include:

  • RTE plant identification and mapping
  • Significant Natural Community mapping
  • Natural Resource Inventories (private, municipal, and commercial)
  • Avoidance and mitigation consultation
  • Act 248 and Act 250 permitting with regards to RTE species
  • Habitat restoration
  • RTE outreach and education
