Cy Lewis is a skilled Utility Locating Technician providing private underground locating, GPR, locating electrical faults, and mapping services for our clients under our service line Vermont Underground Locators helping find important utilities, pipes, underground storage tanks, wells, and more. Cy enjoys learning new skills, working in the field meeting our clients, and assists both our engineers and surveyors in a technician role.

Vermont Underground Locators (VTUL) is the utility locating service branch TCE’s Field Services Department. VTUL began helping Vermonters find lost utilities in 1992 after the founder, Richard “Dick” Mulvaney hit two power lines while jackhammering for Vermont Gas in downtown Burlington. Dick experienced firsthand how dangerous unmarked utilities can be, and declared that “A missed mark is not an option.”

In January 2017 Dick sold the assets of the firm.
During the transition, he continued to work part-time in the summertime. However Dick is now fully enjoying the benefits of retirement, and Vermont Underground Locators is thriving while being able to be a part of a larger, multi-disciplinary, and uniquely integrated team.
