Eric Licho

Eric is an Environmental Engineer at TCE. He has been involved in projects of all types, including commercial, municipal and residential projects. Eric’s focus since starting with TCE has been learning state and federal regulations around wetlands, wetland delineations, and Act 250 permitting.

Eric has a background in environmental restoration and emergency response, which included projects ranging from small scale residential to large scale EPA sites. These projects typically involved the removal of gases, oils, and other hazardous materials and restoring the environment to its natural state.

Eric is originally from Waban, Massachusetts. He has been living in South Burlington, VT since 2014, where he currently lives with his wife. Outside of work, Eric likes to ski, mountain bike, golf, and drive cars on the track.

Recent Project Experience

Residential and Commercial Developments, Various Locations, VT

Eric works with TCE’s senior environmental planner and project managers to delineate wetlands on client’s land, following Vermont Wetlands Program and Army Corps of Engineers guidelines. Eric then uses GPS to map these wetlands and create GIS maps and CAD plans to inform land development. Class I and II wetlands are protected by the State of Vermont because of their many functions and values including wildlife habitat and flood storage.

Act 250 Permitting, Various Sites, VT

Eric works with clients, TCE staff, and Vermont state employees to complete Act 250 Land Use permit applications. Act 250 permits require a wide breadth of research to satisfy the 10 criteria, including air and water pollution, water supply, erosion, transportation, educational and municipal services, aesthetic, scenic, and natural beauty, natural resources, and local and regional plans.

Stormwater Treatment, Various Sites, VT

Eric is working with TCE engineers and project engineers to learn how to plan and develop stormwater treatment practices for residential and commercial projects. Without proper stormwater treatment, there can be adverse impacts to the natural and built environment.
