At Jay Peak Resort, TCE provided all of the survey and site / civil design services for Hotel Jay and Pump House Water Park. There were many challenges with this unique project including stormwater design in a mountainous environment.
Our innovative stormwater system design provides treatment for the new facilities as well as the entire existing parking lot. The stormwater system incorporates an extensive storm drain system, pretreatment tanks, constructed wetland and over 50,000 cubic feet of underground storage using 10’ diameter corrugated metal pipes. The horizontal and vertical limitations of this design were significant due to the difficult terrain and site constraints. Likewise during construction, our surveyors were called upon to stake out and precisely locate and verify hundreds of anchor bolts for the 80,000 square foot water park structure as well as much of the steel for the new 5 story hotel often in inclement weather under the infamous “Jay Cloud”. TCE performed layout all of the water slides, lazy river, and other attractions.
TCE continues to provide annual compliance work including storm water observations, as well as full services on all of the projects at Jay including the ongoing projects at the Stateside Base Area.
