TCE is proud to be working with the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) to build a 3,000-square-foot headquarters on 1.3-acres along Route 100 in Waterbury, Vermont. Since its inception roughly 25 years ago, CLiF has operated out of founder Duncan McDougall and his wife’s home garage. CLiF’s mission is to support and inspire literacy in children who live in rural Vermont and New Hampshire communities, and was formed in 1998. With six staff members and around 15 regular volunteers, the current garage space is maxed-out, and CLiF was looking for a way to provide the operation with a larger, more comfortable, and more organized space.
TCE is providing a number of our varied services to assist CLiF with the project from conception to construction. The typical process of site design for a new building such as this headquarters involves permitting research and assistance, traffic analysis, erosion control and stormwater treatment, water/wastewater design, and landscape and lighting plans. Once the project reaches the construction stage, TCE will provide construction stakeout, administration, and observation so that we may be on-hand for any questions or concerns that come up during this phase.
As TCE is able to provide all of these services in-house with our talented staff, it helps keep costs down and enables clear consistent communication with the same engineers for our clients. CLiF is a fantastic foundation and we’re thrilled to be able to assist in providing them with a new headquarters.
