TCE has enjoyed an exciting year of growth, and we are proud of the team members that have come on board recently. Over the next few weeks we’ll be introducing them all with a spotlight feature as a show of our appreciation and to let our clients and the public know a bit more about the amazing staff here at TCE.
Next up in our Staff Spotlight Series is Roger Dickinson, PE, PTOE. Roger joined us in May of this year as TCE and Lamoureux & Dickinson (L&D) joined forces, and we’re delighted to have him on the team. He brings over 30 years of valuable experience with him having worked at L&D since 1991. There, Roger was responsible for coordinating teams involved in civil engineering and transportation engineering design, analysis, and permitting of numerous projects throughout Vermont. His specialty is transportation engineering as a licensed Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, and is also a member of the American Society of Engineers and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He has also served as a board member and officer of both the New England ITE Section and the Vermont ITE Chapter.
Roger acquired a BS of Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont in 1976, and is adept at a long list of skills outside of transportation. Including but absolutely not limited to water supply systems, permitting, providing expert testimony, and all manner of construction engineering services. His wisdom in all aspects of engineering is unparalleled.
In years past, Roger was also a licensed water system operator responsible for maintaining his development’s public water system. In the early 1990’s Roger personally spearheaded the design, funding and construction of a $780,000 project to extend Town water to his development.
With clients ranging from residential to commercial to municipal, Roger has worked on countless projects all over the State of Vermont. Some of his notable projects have been traffic signals at over 50 intersections, improvements to the intersection at the Fort Ethan Allen East Gate, sidewalk improvements for the Pearl Street link streetscape in Essex Junction and along Route 7 in Milton, and scoping studies. Roger is also experienced in local and state permitting, and has been admitted as an expert witness in numerous Environmental Court cases.
Since May, Roger has been a joy to have around our Williston office, and he’s recently been establishing a presence at our St. Albans location as well. A longtime resident of Milton, where he lives with his wife Diana, he has established ties to Franklin County and is a great addition to our St. Albans faces. Over the years, Roger has willingly volunteered his many talents to be involved in his community, having served as an EMT and former Colchester Rescue Chief, designing and gaining approval for an emergency Interstate access for use by Milton Fire & Rescue, and in coordinating building and site repairs at St. Ann Church in Milton. Roger also currently serves as a Deputy Health Officer for the Town of Milton.
